Basic Life Support, or BLS, generally refers to the type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway. It requires knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using automated external defibrillators (AED) and relieving airway obstructions in patients of every age.

Designed to help non-medical professionals provide assistance in times of crisis. The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as: burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, and back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age.

A specialized form of first aid that focuses on providing care in remote settings where professional medical help may be delayed. This course is designed for people who spend time in the outdoors, such as hikers, campers, hunters, and outdoor guides. This is a 2 day course.
Complete the online portion on a PC or tablet with high-speed internet before attending the in-class skills session. You'll receive a 2-year digital certificate upon completion.
This course prepares teens (11+) to be safe and effective babysitters. It covers infant/childcare, safety, emergency procedures, age-appropriate activities, behavior management, and business basics.

Head, Neck, Muscle, Bone & Joint Injuries and Splinting
This 60-minute ARC Skills Boost covers first aid for head, neck, spinal, muscle, bone, and joint injuries. Learn to apply splints, slings, and binders. *MUST BE FIRST AID OR CPR/AED CERTIFIED. MAY ADD TO A FA/CRP/AED COURSE*
Life-Threatening Bleeding & Tourniquet Application
This 75-minute ARC Skills Boost teaches you how to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding. Learn to use direct pressure, tourniquets, and wound packing techniques to provide immediate care until EMS arrives.*MUST BE FIRST AID OR CPR/AED CERTIFIED. MAY ADD TO A FA/CRP/AED COURSE*
Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine
Auto-Injector Administration
This 45-minute ARC Skills Boost teaches you how to recognize and respond to anaphylaxis. Learn to administer medication and provide essential care until EMS arrives. *MUST BE FIRST AID OR CPR/AED CERTIFIED. MAY ADD TO A FA/CRP/AED COURSE*
Asthma & Quick-Relief Medication Administration
This 45-minute ARC Skills Boost teaches you how to recognize and respond to asthma attacks. Learn to administer quick-relief medication using an inhaler with a spacer, and provide care until EMS arrives. Optional training on using a nebulizer is also included. *MUST BE FIRST AID OR CPR/AED CERTIFIED. MAY ADD TO A FA/CRP/AED COURSE*
Opioid Overdose & Naloxone Administration
This 45-minute ARC Skills Boost teaches you how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer naloxone. Includes training on nasal spray and atomizer delivery. CPR certification or compression-only CPR practice is required.
